Privacy policy

This page describes the data Newsola actually collects today. We do not sell reader data.

Last updated 28 September 2026

Reading the site

When you read an article we record aggregate reading statistics: the page, whether you arrived from search, social media, another site or directly, the referring domain, an approximate country, device type, how long the page stayed open, and a hashed session identifier. We do not use this to identify individual readers and there is no reader account.

Newsletter sign-up

If you sign up, we store your email address, the time and place you gave consent, and your chosen topics and frequency. Email briefings have not launched yet. You can unsubscribe using the link in any email, after which your address is marked unsubscribed.

Abuse protection

To limit spam and abuse of public forms, we keep short-lived, hashed identifiers of recent submissions. These are not linked to your email address.

Staff accounts

Newsola staff sign in with an email account. Their sign-in session is stored in their browser, and important newsroom actions are recorded in an internal audit log.

AI processing

Our AI tools process published news material and newsroom drafts. Reader data is not sent to AI tools.

Advertising and third parties

Newsola does not currently show advertising or use third-party advertising trackers. If that changes, this page will be updated first.

Changes

We will update this page whenever our data practices change and revise the date above.
